Part of Braat’s VendingMachine series, Kit Kat participates in his playful commentary on consumer culture: art as commodity, objects elevated to icons, and the slippery line between desire and esteem. The smooth marble finish mimics the sheen of factory packaging, even while the weight and solidity of the work recast it as something to be treasured—not consumed.

By rendering a snack into a relic, Braat asks: what do we honor and preserve? What do we consume and discard? Kit Kat is at once tongue-in-cheek and deeply provocative, reminding us that everyday objects carry stories, status, and sometimes, impermanence.
